Restoring lush green grass for children to play on in Kingston’s Green Square is off the agenda while the ACT government seeks to pass on an estimated $70,000 bill to local traders.

Kingston shop owners have reached an impasse with the government on the vexed issue of returning grass to the once popular cafe strip, accusing bureaucrats of foisting tens of thousands of dollars of unexpected costs on to them as well as tying them up in legal red tape. More…
