Submissions to Planning Bill Inquiry due 16 November

The ISCCC encourages inner south residents to provide your views by 16 November on the new Draft Planning Bill to the Legislative Assembly’s Planning, Transport and City Services Committee Inquiry. The new Bill and associated Territory Plan and District Strategies are the most significant changes to the ACT planning system in 15 years.
The ISCCC is preparing a submission, and will shortly upload here a summary of key conclusions and recommendations, updating our submission to the ACT Government dated 15 June 2022 (see our original submission at https://www.isccc.org.au/isccc/wp-content/uploads/FINAL-ISCCC-Submission-Planning-Bill-15June2022.pdf). Little appears to have changed in the draft Bill submitted to the Legislative Assembly.
Retired urban planner and architect Richard Johnston has undertaken an analysis of the draft Planning Bill submitted to the Assembly, and his analysis is provided below.
