The first inmates are set to move to a temporary jail at Symonston to ease pressure on the ACT’s overflowing prison.

Up to 22 prisoners will be transferred to Symonston Correctional Facility, which was redeveloped to take overflow when the chronically overcrowded Alexander Maconochie Centre reached capacity. More…
